The aim of this study is to Examining the Discrepancy between Job Seekers and Employment Opportunities for Recent Graduates in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Descriptive research design and a quantitative research approach were employed. The target population comprised 384 fresh graduates in Addis Ababa, selected from a total of 4805 unemployed 2024 graduates, based on data obtained from the Ministry of Education in Ethiopia. Using a simple random sampling technique, 358 respondents were selected. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS version 20, with correlation and multiple regression analyses employed to examine the relationship between dependent and independent variables. Descriptive statistics and explanatory statistics, such as multiple linear regressions, were utilized to analyze the data. The main finding of study shows that collaboration between employers and educational institutions is not effective in aligning the skills and qualifications of fresh graduates with the needs of the local job market. This highlights the importance of fostering partnerships between stakeholders to bridge the gap between job seekers and opportunities in Addis Ababa. Addressing issues such as lack of relevant skills and experience, current economic climate, lack of networking and communication, and industryspecific demand is essential in narrowing this gap and creating more opportunities for job seekers. By addressing these challenges, stakeholders in Addis Ababa can work towards a more inclusive and accessible job market for fresh graduates.en_US
