dc.description.abstract | The main objective of this study was to examine factors affecting employee motivation in Ethiopian
Electric Utility south Addis Ababa district customer service centers. Quantitative research approaches
and explanatory research design were used to investigate the relationship between determinant factors
and employee motivation. Both primary and secondary data were collected from respondents (using
questionnaire) and related literatures & books. To select representative respondents, the research used a
a probability sampling of proportional stratified sampling technique. Statistical Package for the Social
Sciences (SPSS) version 23 was used to analyze the data and the study had 87.76% response rate. The
finding shows that financial benefit has the highest mean value of 3.84. The correlation analysis also
indicates that financial benefits, non-financial benefits, career development and working environment
have strong positive and significant association with employee motivation. As per the regression analysis,
all independent variables have strong positive and statistically significant effect on employee motivation
and financial benefits has the highest standard β value of 0.506. Therefore; the managers of EEU south
Addis Ababa district customer service centers should be aware that, financial benefits is the most
significant in increasing their employee motivation. In addition, the department should further works on
non-financial benefits such as recognition, career development, and working environment | en_US |
