Abstract: | This study attempted to assess the effect of job satisfaction on employee performance in MINAYE
PLC. The purpose of the study is to investigate the significance of pay, promotion, supervision, coworkers and the work itself on job satisfaction. The study is conducted by collecting primary data
from MINAYE PLC through close ended questionnaire using a quantitative method of data
collection. The sampling method was designed based on random selection from different
departments that ware available to respond. However, for the sack of mitigating language barrier
and to meet the Taro Yamane (1973) formula the sample size is determined by considering the
number of employees with minimum education level of diploma and work experience of seven
years and above. SPSS version 20 was used to analyze and interpret the data. Further analysis was
also made using descriptive statistics, correlation, regression and ANOVA. Cronbach’s coefficient
alpha was used to measure reliability of collected data and the result showed that Cronbach alpha
coefficient of α = 0.808 confirming that the data collection is reliable. Generally, the finding of the
study revealed that there is strong association between job satisfactions on employee performance.
Nevertheless, further researches are needed to verify the consistency of the result using, similar or
mixed approaches. It is expected that this study may give essential information to managers and
supervisors on the importance of employee job satisfaction for the ultimate organizational success
and productivity. |
